Debjani Chaliha Bose Better known as Debjani Chaliha one and only Legends of Manipuri Dance still glowing bright during her 83rd Birthday celebration at Birla Academy Today. Assam Socio Literary Club (Estd. 1872) Organized this beautiful program.

His Excellency Governor of Tripura Mr. Tathagata Roy was the Chief Guest of Honor for the evening devoted to opening of the Book “Antaranga Debjani” (Candid Debjani) written by Author Professor Abul ashan Choudhury of Kustia Islami University from Bangladesh.

The stage was honoured with the presence of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipuri Dance Academy Director, Head Of Assam House Kolkata Mr. Chakraborty and the Legendray Rabindra Sangeet Singer Dijen Mukhopadhay apart from the Diva of the evening Debjani Chaliha herself.

His excellency came and innagurated the function with illumination of a lamp.

Sri Atul Kumar Bharali of Assam Cultural Association of Kolkata offered traditional respect to all the guest of Honour.

The evening was glorified with a heartfelt speech of Professor Choudhury who is the author of the book which has been just unveiled. Such a spirited speech and selection of words to explain the cultural and personal background of Debjani Chaliha; can only be possible from Professor Choudhury.

Last but not the least His Excellency Governor of Tripura Tahagata Roy win every one heart by greeting people with Assamese. He told that his childhood was from Shillong  the then capital of Assam. His speech showed why he is loved by all for his cultural and educational stronghold.

The day ended with excellent dance performance by the student if Debjani Chaliha which surely show the touch of her Zenith Dance drama brajaleela.or ‘Usha-Aniruddha Katha’ in her students.

We wish her a healthy life and more and more such sweet return of this evening.

“Antaranga Debjani“ will create a bridge between India and Bangladesh for cultural and educated peace loving people.
