M&M Truck and Bus Division (MTBD) announced BLAZO as part of its new heavy commercial truck series which includes haulage, tractor trailer and tipper with two very tall claims – guaranteed better fuel efficiency than the existing trucks or else the customers can actually return their truck and guaranteed up time on its breakdown service by getting the truck back on road in 48 hours, else the Company will pay the customer Rs. 1000/- per day.

The vehicles are equipped with the FUELSMART technology with CRDe engine with Multi drive mode feature which is usually seen in passenger cars having Multimode feature in three modes – Turbo, Heavy and Light – which can be switched by the driver as per the load and road conditions.

They have already garnered booking of 10,000 units that too during a lean period. They had initially targeted small market, gearing to cater to NE specially Sikkim and are aiming to double their market share to 8% in two years. They might as well achieve that being bullish on SARC countries.

More sales would mean capacity utilization of their 50,000 units’ peak production as against current 8000. Investment of 700 crore has already been made with aim to manufacture intermediate and light commercial vehicles two years from now.

Mr. Nalin Mehta, Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “Our truck and bus business has been growing steadily and is taking full advantage of the buoyancy in the HCV segment. We are confident that new Blazo HCV range will further enhance our position in the market by significantly improving the customer value proposition. In commercial vehicles there is a challenge to provide a single solution of engine and vehicle power-train configuration to multiple applications and variants. The FUELSMART Technology with its multi-mode switches will help drivers to choose the correct mode based on load and road conditions, thereby leading to efficiencies.”

Another interesting facet is the introduction of all-tech call centre that can solve all tech related problems instantly. So far they have a resolution rate of 99.4% within 58 hours and there have been no claimants so far.  Additionally it’s backed by 78 3S dealerships, 90 authorised service centres, 2900 RSA points and RSN of 1777 outlets.

In order bolster the macho personality of trucks they have roped in actor, Ajay Devgn as the face of their new campaign.
