It’s decided Anil Kumble will be the head coach of Team India for one year. This was announced by BCCI president Anurag Thakur after the Board’s working committee meeting held in Dharamsala.

None other than Mr. Kumble can be tagged as a fighter, a gentleman and an ultimate team man is on the card.

Hope that same spirited jaw broken man fighting at the center of action will bring the same adrenaline on the board as coach.

“Kumble will be now transforming himself from a great cricketer to coach, and that’s why he has been appointed for an year as of now,” said Mr. Thakur.

Main reason for choosing an Indian over a foreigners for the dream job Mr. Thakur said rightly :

“It is not about an Indian or a foreign coach. It’s about the best coach for India.”

While Mr. Kumble as usual a great gentleman of the game said

“It’s a great honour to be back in Indian dressing room in a different role,”.

Earlier, the cricket body constituted a three-member cricket advisory committee, comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman, who took interviews for the coveted job in Kolkata. Judging a member with you have shared the dressing for more than a decade is not a easy job and exactly that has been done by Trio of Indian Cricket. Well done Dada.

Former captain Anil Kumble along with ex-India cricketers Pravin Amre and Lalchand Rajput and former India team director Ravi Shastri were in the fray.

The BCCI, after putting out an advertisement on its website, had received 57 applications from both India and abroad and the list was trimmed to 21.

West Bengal chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was among the first to congratulate the new Team India coach. While others from the crickets world were also prompt on twitter to tweet and say welcome. Perhaps Kumble was the only man with no controversies ever on or off filed.
