Unbelievable Capture from NASA, Moon coming between DSCOVR & Earth
It was observed for five hours over the space that moon coming close to the Earth. The photo was captured from NASA over the space for continuous of 5 hours dated July 16, 2016. Tweeted from astronaut Rick Mastracchio this week
“Unbelievable that this is a real photo”. This was taken from NASA’s EPIC 4 megapixel camera and the available telescope on the DSCOVR (Deep Space Climate Observatory) satellite which was at the distance of 1 million miles (16, 09,344kms) from our Earth.
This happens twice a year when moon and the earth together come as the orbit of DSCOVR crosses the orbital path of the moon.
This News was originally published by NASA on 15th July 2015 but still social media has made is more recent like 16 July 2016!!! Even Some said it is FAKE but actually not

From a Million Miles Away, NASA Camera Shows Moon Crossing Face of Earth
A NASA camera aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite captured a unique view of the moon as it moved in front of the sunlit side of Earth last month. The series of test images shows the fully illuminated “dark side” of the moon that is never visible from Earth.
The images were captured by NASA’s Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC), a four megapixel CCD camera and telescope on the DSCOVR satellite orbiting 1 million miles from Earth. From its position between the sun and Earth, DSCOVR conducts its primary mission of real-time solar wind monitoring for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
