Last year Helder, who will be better recognized with Postiga to his name, barely put in a game being injured and all. This year the 34-year old having packed in 10 games for Portuguese Primeira Liga side Rio Ave F.C, declared to have whipped himself in shape and promised to come through for ATK. And he has Iain Hume, who had netted 10 in the last edition, for good company.
Both along with co-owner, Sanjeev Goenka and Arnab Mandal had gathered to drum up the frenzy by launching their theme song for this year sung by musical sensation Papon and also brokered their new tag ‘Aamar Bukey ATK’.
Huume speaking on the occasion said the team’s month long pre-season at Los Angeles de San Rafael ground in El Espinar, Segovia, Spain will stand them in good stead. He hoped to carry forward his form from last year and with Postiga by his side – fit and raring to go – one can expect a great season. Exhibiting true sportsman’s spirit he said he can relinquish his usual position for Postiga if needed.
There has been some controversy regarding the match ground but Sanjeev said he’s not expecting any trouble from that front and has left it for the bench to decide adding that we support environment too and won’t do anything to violate it.
As of now there’s only one thing in Hume’s, Postiga’s and rest of team’s mind – nothing else but the trophy!
And till the battle commences the fans can hum the new team anthem:
