Northern California McDonald’s Offers New Specialty McCafé Drinks for Area Customers

McDonald’s restaurants in the greater Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto area are the first to provide new recipes and options for McCafé specialty beverages

SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Starting today, McDonald’s restaurants in the Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto area are the first to test three new McCafé beverages that include a hot and iced Caramel Macchiato, French Vanilla Cappuccino and Americano (available in small, medium, and large sizes). To enhance the McCafé specialty coffee drink experience, Northern California restaurants added new McCafé equipment to their kitchens which in turn enhance all the McCafe beverages, including mochas, lattes, and hot chocolate.

“This is an exciting time for McDonald’s in Northern California. We are bringing in three new espresso-based beverages that add a thrilling new twist to our McCafé menu,” said Steve Ramirez, a local McDonald’s franchisee.  “Our customers in Northern California will be the first to experience these delicious new flavors that capture the great taste of our current McCafé offerings and will be sure to please.”

The recently added Caramel Macchiato, French Vanilla Cappuccino, and Americano McCafé beverages are made with freshly ground, sustainably sourced espresso beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. Customers can order their beverage with the choice of whole or nonfat milk.  The new specialty coffees include the following:

  • Caramel Macchiato – Espresso blended with whole or nonfat milk and smooth caramel flavor, topped with delicious caramel drizzle. This drink will be served both hot and iced.
  • French Vanilla Cappuccino – Espresso paired with steamed whole or nonfat milk, vanilla flavored with a layer of creamy foam.
  • Americano – freshly brewed espresso topped with hot water, creating a dark and strong flavor.

“We invite all of our guests in the Northern California region to come and try these new flavors on our popular McCafé menu,” continued Ramirez.  “We look forward to adding these new beverages to our mix of delicious, quality coffee drinks and providing some additional variety to our guests.”

During the week of March 20-26, restaurants in the Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto region will be offering a small cup of the new Macchiato, Cappuccino, and Americano McCafé beverages for $1.  The drinks will go back to standard retail pricing on March 27.  Participating Northern California McDonald’s restaurants participating in the test of these new beverages reside in the following counties:
