In partnership with Canadian cinematographer, Jon Simo, Samsung showcases Canada’s colourful landscapes through true-to-life picture quality and 100 per cent colour volume1 with advanced Quantum Dot technology.

MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 13, 2017 /CNW/ – In celebration of the QLED TV Canadian launch, Samsung partnered with Canadian cinematographer, Jon Simo, to provide Canadians an opportunity to get closer to the country’s beautiful landscapes on the Samsung QLED TV2.

With a shared passion for colour and inspired to showcase Canada in its truest form, Jon embarked on a cross-Canada journey by train – capturing breathtaking 4K content from several iconic Canadian landmarks, including the dazzling peaks and jewel-coloured lakes of the Canadian Rockies to the phenomenal Bay of Fundy in Atlantic Canada.

“The Samsung QLED TV redefines picture quality with 100 per cent colour volume, in addition to smart technology and stunning design from every angle,” said Pat Bugos, Vice President, Consumer Electronics, Samsung Canada.

Unveiled at an exclusive Canadian launch on April 12th at Toronto’s Union Station, Jon’s colourful footage was uniquely showcased as part of a virtual-Cross Canada train journey, providing guests a moving train experience with a series of Samsung QLED TVs replacing the windows. Featuring interactive QLED TV demos boasting a variety of 4K content, including engaging timelapse videos captured by Jon, the event provided an opportunity for Samsung to celebrate Canada’s scenic vistas and mark the next innovation in TV.

“As an artist behind the camera, I value how picture quality and colour range impact the viewing experience of my creative work. Partnering with Samsung provided an opportunity to bring Canada’s vibrant colours to life on the QLED TV,” said Jon Simo, Canadian cinematographer.

The Samsung QLED TV was designed with the consumer in mind and addresses key consumer pain points through intuitively innovative solutions known as Q Picture, Q Style and Q Smart.

Q Picture: Ideal combination of light and colour

The Samsung QLED TV takes Quantum dot technology to the next level with advancements in light efficiency, stability and a wider colour spectrum. With new metal Quantum dots, the QLED TV addresses aspects of picture quality, including viewing angle, colour volume, brightness and bold contrast. The QLED TV can express accurate colour and achieves a 100 per cent colour volume1 –earning accreditation by Verband Deutscher Elektrotechnieker (VDE), one of Europe’s largest technical-scientific associations.

In addition, the QLED TV’s rich, deep black levels and bold contrast provide a consistent viewing experience regardless of a room’s lighting. The QLED TV’s advanced HDR 1500-20003 functionality allows users to see every hidden detail as it was meant to be seen, with no loss or distortion of colour.

Q Style: Designed to fit every lifestyle

Enhanced space solutions and a 360 design make the Samsung QLED TV look stunning and fit into any home seamlessly. The new No Gap Wall-mount4positions the QLED TV flush against the wall, keeping the home entertainment space clean and sleek. The nearly undetectable Invisible Connection cable5and one connect box eliminates cable clutter. Only 1.8mm in diameter, the transparent optical cable enables the TV’s connected devices to come together seamlessly.

New design improvements earn the Samsung QLED TV a place in Canadians’ homes. It’s completely bezel-less on all four sides, delivering a more immersive experience. A range of stylish stands6 provide an opportunity to customize living spaces. The Gravity Stand7 features a swivel function, allowing for easy rotation of the TV for a personalized viewing angle. The Studio Stand enhances any room with its artistically inspired design, similar to an easel. The cables are hidden through the stand’s legs for a streamlined, sophisticated look.

Q Smart: Elevating the home entertainment experience

The Samsung Smart Hub has been expanded to offer an even more intuitive and unified experience, directly via the QLED TV. The enhanced Samsung One Remote Control now supports more devices and offers voice control capabilities across more Smart TV features. Paired with the latest Smart View App – available on Android or iOS mobile devices – Canadians will enjoy their personalized Smart Hub. Additionally, the Samsung QLED TV brings entertainment and games into the home with access to popular apps and top-rated PC games, all from one place and on a fantastic display.
