Mercedes-Benz Canada maintains steady year-to-date growth

TORONTO, Aug. 1, 2017 /CNW/ – Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network are pleased to report that 4,333 vehicles were retailed in July, for an increase of 10.1% over July 2016. Year-to-date, the company has delivered a total of 30,806 units, representing an increase of 9.9% over the same period in 2016.

A total of 1,726 passenger cars were retailed in July. Year-to-date, the segment has seen a 10.0% increase, or 13,933 units delivered. The most notable growth was achieved by the E-Class family of vehicles, which saw 76.2% growth in July and 13.7% growth year-to-date. In particular, sales of the E-Class Sedan continued to rise, with 83.5% growth over July 2016 and an overall year-to-date increase in sales of 36.9%.

Sales of luxury light trucks maintained a steady pace over the course of the month, which saw a total of 1,991 units retailed, representing a growth of 37.4% over 2016. Year-to-date, the segment has seen an increase of 13.7%, for a total of 12,852 units delivered. The GLC SUV proved to be particularly popular with consumers in July: sales of the model surged by 119.3% over July 2016, supporting year-to-date growth of 70.7%.

With 580 units sold, Mercedes-Benz Vans reported a sales increase of 23.9% over July 2016. Year-to-date, the division has retailed 3,802 units for a growth of 11.6%. This strong result was bolstered by sales of the Metris Passenger and Cargo vans, which increased by 105.9% over July 2016, and saw a year-over-year increase of 31.5%.

The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division once again delivered record-breaking results in July. The division had its best-ever July, with 1,422 units delivered (+16.4%), and also reported its best-ever July sales of Certified Pre-Owned vehicles, with 1,058 (+13.6%) units retailed. Year-to-date, the number of pre-owned vehicles delivered reached 10,025 (+6.7%), of which 8,027 were Certified Pre-Owned.
