Liquor baron Vijay Mallya was arrested in London today just to be released on bail for the second time this year for a bail bond of 65000 GBP. This arrest was in connection to a case of money laundering filed by Government of India through UK’s state prosecutor.
Vijay staying in the UK for over a year now and he has been accused of defaulting on loans worth 9000 crores of Indian Rupees in India. He fleed like a Kingfisher out of the country in March last year for the charges of the loan given to his much hyped now-collapsed Kingfisher Airlines.
After his bail in April this year Indian agencies followed up the request with a 2,000-page documents as proof against Mr Mallya. Today while appearing before the Westminster Magistrate Court in London remained calm and relaxed has no sing of tension, he refused to agree to being extradited. Court allowed him bail for a bail bond worth 650,000 British pounds.
