Walkathon for the less privileged Children

  • An initiative by 2 Kolkata based Organizations to support the under-privileged Kids of the state

Kolkata, 29th July 2018: Event Management Institute, NAME (National Academy of Media and Events) in association with Virtual Communication, Public Relations & Image Management Organization, organized a walkathon for Right to Education, Protest against Child Labour and Child Abuse through Performing Arts by the less privileged Children of the state. The theme of the walkathon was “Pehchaan” to provide Identity to the Less privileged Kids of the City of Joy and West Bengal who are really talented but unnoticed due to lack of infrastructure and support. More than 200 less privileged Kids and young children were present. Mr B.K . Mantry, Organizer & Co-Founder, NAME & Mr Manit Singh, Organizer & Founder, Virtual Communication were present to share the details.

Like last year of Pehchaan, the Season 2 is also an initiative to bring out exceptional talents from the grass -root level in Kolkata and West Bengal, train them by experts and ultimately showcase their unique talents through a mega event to the people of this city. It also aims to create awareness in the society about Equality, Education, Health, and giving a Platform to identify & reward them for their talent.  The talent show for less privileged kids revolves around four different categories: Singing, Dancing, Acting/Drama, Art and Craft. Pehchaan- the journey to discover the talents Unknown, is West Bengal’s first ever talent show for lesser privileged kids and youth between 8 to 21 years. The finale will be held on 9th August 2018 at Kala Mandir.

Mr Manit Singh, Organizer & Founder, Virtual Communication, said, “We believe humanity is the best thing in the world. Our Organisation believes that Social Responsibility should not be limited to just words. Organizations like us must come forward to promote such hidden talents and support the needy in every possible way.”

Mr BK Mantry, Organizer & Co-Founder,National Academy of Media and Events, said, “Every individual has a NAME but their Pehchaan, their true Identity is ever-evolving, beyond their NAME. It lies in an individual’s talent, their capabilities. We must promote education in the society. Empowering the kids will help in bring balance in the society along with the development.”
