The Iconic American Bar & Grill Experience of Uno® Chicago Bar & Grill, known for its legendary authentic Culinary Heritage and its strong artisan based Craft Culture in food and beverages, is all set to open its second restaurant in India on November 25th in Swabhumi in Kolkata.
The generously spaced 250-seater restaurant spread over three floors and has been designed to deliver comprehensive Smart Dining experience for the entire family through pairing of cuisine, bar, live music setup & entertainment. The Uno® Chicago Bar & Grill India restaurant is located at Swabhumi, which is a comprehensive recreational centre that resonates the charm of Kolkata’s heritage.
Uno® Chicago Bar & Grill’sentry in India coincides with its 75 years of successful global operations. Being a pioneer in this segment, Uno® is bringing its legacy of their creation – the Deep Dish Pizza and a signature Nuevo American Cuisine and is deeply mindful of quality and hand crafted excellence. The first restaurant was launched earlier this month in Noida and is followed by opening of flagship Uno® restaurants in Kolkata & Bengaluru.
The Uno® story began in Chicago in 1943 when Ike Sewell developed deep dish pizza and opened a new type of restaurant at the corner of Ohio & Wabash. It was here that Ike served a pizza unlike any that had been served before. Today, Uno® still draws its identity and inspiration from the artisan heritage of the original. Each restaurant including the ones in India will prepare their own dough on daily basis and use fresh ingredients.

An intensive planning process ensued over a year, involving some of the best advisors in the industry to optimize the Uno® concept for India and Indians. Uno® India operations is commitment to sustainability, which is followed through strict policy of zero plastic use within restaurant, adopting sustainable principles, followed for cooking oil and solid waste management within all restaurants apart from using only takeaway collaterals, which are made from Bio Degradable material.
The menu for India has been carefully curated and optimised to appeal to the contemporary Indian customer. While the brand were the Inventors of the Deep Dish Pizza, the menu is very evolved and serves a number of UNO® signature dishes right from Appetizers, Entrees, Salads, Grills & Desserts.
Some of Uno® signature dishes that define the culinary excellence and artisan heritage of the brand include fresh Salads such as Uno® Power Salad and Crispy Honey Chicken. In Appetizers the extremely popular Pizza Skins has been on the menu for over 21 years, along with Spinach and Artichoke Dip, Chipotle Cottage Cheese Skewers, Spicy Calamari, Chicken meatballs, Chipotle Chicken Skewers, Rock Prawn Dynamite.
The Entree and Grills section includes an eclectic mix of ingredients and flavours in creations such as Spinach Cottage Cheese Steak, Crusted Chicken Parmesan and Grilled Lemon Basil Salmon. The all-time favourites in Pastas include the signature Rattlesnake Fettuccine Pasta, Chicken Spinocolli® Pasta and Prawn Scampi Pasta.
The authentic Deep Dish Pizza is a star on the menu and the Indian restaurant brings the widest selection of the same for its customers in the country including – Farmers Market, Uno Cheese & Tomato, The Blazing Hot, BBQ Roasted Mushroom, Numero Uno, Prima Pepperoni and Chicago Meat Market.
For lovers of signature Thin Crust Pizzas, there are two variants on the menu. On one hand there is the famous Chicago Thin Crust which includes options such as Uno Veggie Extravaganza, Northside Cheese, Windy City Works, Classic American BBQ, Spicy Hawaiian and Super Roni. On the other hand is the Super Thin Crust range of pizza including the eclectic Gourmet, Caprese, Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Chicago West Loop variants.
For those in love with Burgers, there is an interesting selection to choose from including ones like Wild Wild West Burger, Peri Peri Cottage Cheese Burger, Whisky Chicken Melt Burger and Aged Cheddar Mushroom & Chicken Burger. Uno is famous for its specialised Kids menu which has many stars including the Classic all-time favourite Mac & Cheese and Build your Own Kids Pizza. Meals are completed with Desserts such as Tiramisu, Chocolate Brownies and the legendary“Insanely Large Chocolate Cake”.
