Utkarsh India Ltd. and Indian Plumbing Skills Council Partner for Skill Development of Indian Plumbing Workforce through Project Pankh
Announcing plumbing training, certification & recognition program for 2,000 Plumbers

Utkarsh India Ltd has partnered with Indian Plumbing Skills Council (IPSC) operating under the aegis of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), to train a total 2000 beneficiaries across India in the field of plumbing through a joint collaboration called Project Pankh. Adding wings to your life.
A skill development program under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will be conducted by the Indian Plumbing Skills Council for the plumbing workforce. Reinforcing the objective of Skill India Mission, the program supports Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’s (MSDE) efforts to transform India as a hub for skilled manpower. A joint project of one year, this RPL program aims to empower the beneficiaries with the right skill sets and knowledge and provide recognition to the plumbers engaged in the program.
Announcing the collaboration with Indian Plumbing Skills Council, Mr. Utkarsh Bansal, Director, UIL, said, lack of skilled workers and poor training opportunities are the most pressing concerns of the modern plumbing community. Utkarsh India stands committed to help improve the skill sets of the plumber’s community which has often been neglected. We are happy to be associated with IPSC and looking forward to help the plumbing community by providing better technical skills thereby enhancing their livelihood.
Mr Sandip K Roy Choudhury, Director, IPSC, said “IPSC has created a platform of recognition of the existing skilled plumbers highlighting their level of competency, and is working through their partners, to impart the skills in plumbing and making them industry ready.”
Commenting on the association, Dr. Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, National Skill Development Corporation said, “This collaboration will empower a large number of Indian youth engaged in plumbing to undertake industry-relevant skill training that will support their professional growth in this informal sector.”

Synopsis of the Project Pankh.
Lack of professionally trained plumbers is a major drawback for country’s construction and related sector. This process of skill development will help the beneficiaries improve their workmanship and gain recognition for their Skills, thus increasing their potential of employment, entrepreneurship and earning. This training initiative will be part of Utkarsh India Ltd.’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity.
Under this program, independent plumbers and plumber assistants working in the market will be provided with free training for the specific job roles as per National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) by IPSC. They will also be provided specialised training by Utkarsh India Ltd on the latest products and techniques. Furthermore, the plumbers will be assessed and subsequently felicitated with Skill India, IPSC & Utkarsh India Ltd Certification recognizing their skills.

The focal point of Project Pankh is to develop and integrate technical skill matrix, soft skills and advanced learning’s through trainings, workshop and seminars, amongst the plumbing fraternity which will help improve their workmanship and gain recognition for, thus increasing potential of employment, entrepreneurship and earning.
