Bongio Samaj Bengaluru, organized free AMATEUR FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT, in Bangalore, first of its kind in Bangalore from 27th July 2019 onwards. This tournament happened in various football arenas across the City and more than 21 teams participated in this tournament.
Various North Eastern Communities including Bengalees, Tripuris, Asaamees, Manipuris participated in this tournament. Semi-Finals and Final match happened on 18th August, 2019 in The Game Changer MSR venue, near Mathikere. More than 1000 spectators witnessed the final of this tournament.
Chief Guest for the final award ceremony was Shri DV Sadananda Gowda, Honourable Union Minister of Petrochemical and Fertilizer and other Guest of Honours are Shri Rupak Kumar Dutta, ex DG & IGP Karnataka, Shri Anjan Ray, Managing Director of Ttroy Life Science, Shri Guruprasad CMO Sparsh Hospital and Shri Sanjay Bhattacharjee, Head of Retails, Titan and Smt. Puja Samanta, Marketing Head of RMZ Galleria Mall.
The winner of this tournament was My Home India and the runners up was SORRBA. While addressing the crowd, Shri DV Sadananda Gowda mentioned that he is delighted to see such initiatives taken up by Bongio Samaj. During his speech, he mentioned that Bangalore is a home for all and we are Indian first and we all should remain united always.
President of Bongio Samaj Bengaluru Shri Sourav Mukherjee mentioned that Bongio Samaj is committed for the social cause and now the next target is to organize such tournaments in various districts of West Bengal with an objective to get the real talent from rural Bengal and promote them.
