COCOANUT GALLOPPED TO LIFT ‘THE 42 CUP’
Kolkata, 13th January 2020: The 42 Chowringhee for the 2nd year in a row hosted ‘The 42 Cup’ on the prestigious Derby Day at the Royal Calcutta Turf Club. The momentous event grabbed numerous eyeballs with some intense racing action on a wintry afternoon amidst the magnificent view of the Victoria Memorial and the iconic THE 42 in the backdrop.
The total stake involved in The 42 cup was 3,04,200. 1400mt track was set up for 9 of the best horses to display their skill. The history and heritage of the Royal Calcutta Turf Club surely added up to the glory of this trophy.
The trophy was handed over to the winner by Yashashwi Shroff and Aakriti Shroff.
Speaking at the event, Yashashwi Shroff and Aakriti Shroff said, “It is our absolute privilege and honour to be associated for the 2nd time with such a well spirited and glamorous sporting event like Derby in Kolkata. The Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) was founded in 1847 in Calcutta. It is to date one of India’s most prestigious heritage sport racing grounds. This collaboration with them is truly befitting in every sense of the word. We are proud to be able to craft a legacy through ‘The 42 Cup’ at RCTC”.
