“MILE FALOK”, the fifth own song of Kolkata’s Heavy Metal and progressive band Half Major, has been released. The song is released entirely in the band Half Major’s own production.

It was a great challenge for Half Major to complete this task in the helpless state of the epidemic that is raging all over the world. Of special note is that almost all the work except mixing the song is done by everyone sitting at home and all the work is done on an Android phone.

Mile Falok song is written and composed by the band’s guitarist & lyricist Pushpendu Chattopadhyay.

On the other hand arrangement, Mixing and mastering entirely done by the band’s key boardist Sourav Maity. On the other hand this song is performed by the band Half Major respectively. The song also features guitar by Annesh Maitra and bass guitar by Sumant Shekhar Sarkhel, Esraj & Guitar by Pushpendu chattopadhy. Half Major’s vocalist Dipayan Ricky Ghosh has performed the song in a great way as the lead singer of this quarantine project which is dedicated to all migrant worker of our country.
The music video for the song has been done in an extraordinary way by Pritha Brahma, the video has been completely edited by Pritha Brahma.

However, it is worth mentioning that although the song is from Half Major, they have taken a bold step to share this work with everyone and as a result, in addition to Half Major’s vocalist Ricky, many famous Kolkata artists have sung in this song. Notable among them is Anupam Roy’s band keyboard player Nabarun Bose, who has worked as a music composer in various films, has joined hands with Gaurab Chatterjee alias Gabu, one of the main faces of the band without Laxmichara, Annie Ahmed, the front lady of A Dot In Sky Band, Emon Sen Calcutta Blues, Gaurab Tapadhar YouTuber, Sourav Chatterjee, Soumodwip Chakraborty, Dip Sen, Samantok Sengupta, Prasanna Saha, Kaustav Banerjee, Debashish Pradhan, Atrei Majumdar and author Abhijit Pal recited a beautiful poem at the end of the song.

The main theme of the song is the extreme negative aspect of the sudden lock-down in the country due to this epidemic, which is what the band Half Major has tried to highlight their work Mile Falok. As a result of the sudden lockdown, we saw millions of migrant workers walking mile after mile, trying to get back to their homes despite the terrible disasters like sun, water, storms and hurricanes. The only survivors of their struggle are the path that these people tried to take back home, some bends, some ponds, quiet rivers by the side of the road. It will go on for ages as a document. Some chose the national highway as their route, while others walked barefoot on the railroad, responding to calls to return home. On the one hand there was the fear of death from corona disease, on the other hand the fear of being unemployed. The cries of the hungry and hungry stomachs did not reach their ears that day because there was fear of death step by step. And we know the consequences! When the tired worker fell asleep on the railway line in the middle of the night, the train that could have taken all the migrant workers to their destination was cut off and crushed, but the country could not, ten could not, but this incident shook our minds. People have landed at the airport and returned home, and then in almost all parts of the country, these ordinary working people have been cut under the train.

At the same time, the inhuman appearance of the people catches the eye.
Many homeowners have conspired to evict the doctors and nurses who were serving us or are still doing well, and I did not think for two minutes to make the final decision to evict them. Man has returned to primitiveness in an instant. A coward, a lockdown has shown how wild we are.

Attempts to leave this condition as evidence to future generations are MILE FALOK. The roadside milestone is the document that heard the sound of millions of empty feet, who saw the howl of a hungry stomach.
The path that these people took back home and the number of plaques along that path is the history of their lives or numbers? I don’t know what to say !

Thanking you
Band Half Major
