CACTUS FAME MUSICIANS BUTI-ABHIRUP,NOTED SINGER DEBANJALI LILY COME UP WITH BANGLA POP IN THIS PUJAS
Inspired by the sounds of MICHAEL JACKSON, ABBA, MADONNA, NAZIA HASSAN, ALISHA CHINAI and so on, and a willingness to reusher the age of pop music in India, Debanjali Lily, Buti and Abhirup joined hands to create Phire Aaye. Phirey Aaye is completely a new genre in Bangla Music, not only in its sound but also visually, that will leave you play it on loop when you party! The song has just released on Amara Muzik recently.
It is said that every dark cloud has a silver lining. As a group of musician friends Debanjali Lily, Buti and Abhirup have definitely experienced the silver lining during the dark time of pandaemic covi19.
Though faced with lots of unanswered questions and worries they took it as a golden oppurtunity to spend time with themselves and reflect on life as an artist to contribute something to music. Thus evolved Bangla pop! A genre of music that’s vibrant and chic at the same time. A music that demands straight forward lyrics and glamourous projections on screen. A music that will lift your spirits even in not-so-good times.
Debanjali Lily, was already getting noticed as the next singing Diva through her presence in national level reality show, “Rising Star”, which was aired on Colors TV, her playback singing in Tollywood and various OTT platforms, and her cover song episodes called “Sunday Jam with Debanjali Lily” on her Youtube channel. However, she was in search of original bangla music that’s pop and connects well with her chic persona.
Buti, famously known as keyboard wizard from the legendary bangla band Cactus, was silently experimenting with his sound, with his banglapop!
Abhirup, also from Cactus, mostly known as a guitarist inclined towards heavy genre of music, always wanted to pen down stories to foot tapping music that is simple and easy to understand.
The lockdown has created an oppurtunity for the three musician friends to experiment and contribute towards this secrect musical passion that they posses, which people were unaware of!
Buti quickly composed the song where Abhirup penned down the lyrics almost overnight, and Debanjali Lily recorded the vocals asap giving it her own chic style of singing. The song needed to sound at par with international pop releases, and luckily enough Sayan Ghosh came on board to lend his expertise in mixing and mastering the audio and make it sound the way it does.
In today’s age of audio-visual mode of entertainment, only good quality audio doesn’t do full justice to a song. It needs to have an equally interesting video. During lockdown, with all the restrictions, they could only shoot videos from home individually. This is where the team got Addee’s studio, from where the brilliant editor Addee almost like a wizard, created such a visually appealing video.
That’s how the song reached completion and the journey of phirey aaye began!
Amara Muzik, always known for providing a platform to new music, immediately saw potential in Debanjali Lily and Banglapop, came on board and agreed to release the song under their label!
Phirey Aaye is the second BanglaPop by Debanjali Lily, Buti and Abhirup after Eksaathe Jai.
