Soak in the Christmas Cheer with Hong Kong’s Winterfest

  • Hong Kong organizes various Online Activities to kickstart the festivities
  • Kids to record Christmas Performances for Cross-platform Broadcasting
  • Virtual Festive Decorations, Virtual Tour and Check-ins
  • Online Santa Meet & Greet

India, December 24, 2020: For 50 years, Harbour City’s Christmas display at Ocean Terminal main entrance has been one of Hong Kong’s must-see attractions. People have come in droves to take photographs and soak up the unique festive atmosphere. Since we experienced several waves of the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s Christmas theme of Harbour City is “Christmas Every Day” featuring a unique “Charity Christmas Bear”, which aims to bring joy and spread love this festive season.

Under the unusual circumstances, Harbour City has also prepared a series of online activities to celebrate the holiday with everyone in HK and overseas. Apart from the 4 festive check points, including a “Beary Christmas Shop” & “Christmas Lighting Garden” throughout Ocean Terminal, which were opened earlier, Harbour City has invited Dutch artist Eva Cremers to design 2 more decorations inside the mall this year.

Hong kong has prepared a Virtual Tour & Check-in around the decorations and online Santa Meet & Greet at Harbour City. Meanwhile, even if you cannot visit Hongkong, you can still take some snaps at our Best 12 Christmas Photo Hotspots. Choose whatever site photos you like, and you can paste your selfies with your loved ones onto the photos. Share them on social media just like you came in person! (Activity Details: http://xmas.harbourcity.com.hk/)

Besides doing it on-site, kids can also create their own “Monsters” at home, by redesigning their costumes, and they will be able to see them alive on the screen in 3D, interacting with those created by other kids. While it is getting closer to Christmas, your dream of meeting Santa once in a year will come true! (Game site: http://hcxmas2020.com/painter/)

The iconic art and cultural landmark K11 MUSEA presents Globoscope – the site-specific immersive light showcase by Collectif Coin. They have debuted for the first time in Asia with Hong Kong at the Bohemian Garden this holiday season. With the unique characteristics of ‘A Muse By the Sea’, each individual light sphere is uniquely positioned as a glowing point or pixel within this beautiful landscape, connected into choreographed light movements that swirl throughout. Mathematics and light are used in this way to transform the Bohemian Garden, offering the viewer a surreal experience as though they are transported to another space. This beautifully festive and romantic setting is open to the public till 3 January 2021 upon reservation and on a first come first served basis. Each session lasts for 20 minutes from 5:30pm to 10:00pm. Private moments are available and guests can book a slot to treat family and friends or as a romantic gesture to surprise a partner with a marriage proposal. (Please refer to the website for full details on terms and conditions.) To book a session, please book through K11 MUSEA website: https://bit.ly/35DQwnb

Striking a delicate balance between safeguarding public hygiene and upholding Christmas traditions, new arrangements on outdoor Christmas installations and crowd control are being made.Harbour City has introduced new safety measures designed to protect visitors and staff, and ensure that the public can continue to enjoy Christmas celebrations despite Covid-19. The Christmas installations coated with photocatalyst will be cleaned and sanitized regularly, and are also designed to maximize photo opportunities while minimizing human contact.

So if you’re missing travelling this year, now you can virtually fly to Hong Kong and kickstart your festive holidays.
