Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata, an institution of the JIS Group Educational Initiatives, organized a virtual Master Class with celebrity Chef Kunal Kapur on 10th January 2021 which was attended by the institute students and the external audience with great enthusiasm.
Chef Kunal, who is the Brand Ambassador and Culinary Mentor of GNIHM, and regularly visits the institute to conduct special culinary workshops with the students, spoke about VEGANISM and explained what it is and why the world is adapting to it and prepared 3 recipes using ingredients which are 100% Vegan like Vegan Milk, Vegan Chai and Vegan Custard, while explaining in detail the preparation process.
In addition, he also spoke about the nutritional values of Vegan Cuisine and compared the same with Vegetarian and Non Vegetarian options. Chef Kunal was of the opinion that ten years down the line Vegan food may be included in menu cards of eateries too.
On being questioned by a student on what is vegan meat he answered saying that it is actually the extraction of vegetarian item which is presented like meat.
