Education Interface, an education fair went underway today at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. About 250 stalls by over 100 colleges will dispense information and provide necessary counseling to those who seek career career not only in usual fields like Engineering, Medical, Hotel Management, Hospital Management and Polytechnic but also in marines and such.

State Education Minister, Partha Chatterjee who was the guest of honor stressed that CM has put a special thrust on education and he himself had discussed about a robust indulgence on technical education with Ashima Patra, Minister of Technical Education, on way to inaugurate the fair.

He exhibited concern about brain-drain from WB which has been echoed by the CM and mentioned concerted efforts to prevent the same. “We have opened 15 new universities and 45 new colleges this year, 30 of which is a government endeavor while the rest are private enterprises, said Partha , adding that

” the online admission procedure initiated last year will be further strengthened this year”.

We have also instituted a monitoring system to regulate the feedback on grants provided to various institutions and there will be stern eye on how the endowment has been utilized and whether quality is maintained as promised”.

Next up Prof Ajoy Kumar Roy, Director, Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology, was visibly very purposeful with his suggestions of ‘planned Bengal Initiative’, where by both the students and teachers of Engineering, Science and Technology, can collaborate to collective success. He’ll be discussing it with the SEM and CM and plans to launch it tentatively in mid-August.

Minister of Technical Education, Ashima Patra, on her turn iterated CM’s forceful stance on technical skill developments.

Dipak Roy, Chief Mentor of Career Planner Education Interface said “The Fair is just the beginning of the orientation process. There were around 1.5 lakh pre-exam candidates, so there will a big lot that will benefit from this fair”
