Huge boost to water transport, thanks to Bengal CM
On a visit to Baharampur, Murshidabad, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate today a number of projects related to water transport.
The Chief Minister will flag off four 100-seater vessels (MV Sundarini, MV Madhurini, MV Ushante and MV Sabuj Sathi) and a LTC vessel (MV Sokal) which has the same capacity as four fully-loaded six-wheeler trucks. She will also launch five 250-seater steel vessels (MV Meghma, MV Meghbrishti, MV Adina, MV Motijheel, MV Shalpeeyal) and a 400-seater two-tired vessel (MV Roudro-Chhaya).
Today, 26 new jetties in different parts of the south Bengal will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister. She will also lay foundation stones for nine jetties and three updated jetties in Kolkata.
নদীপথে অগ্রগতির নতুন দিশা
দ্বিতীয়বার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হওয়ার পর এই প্রথম বার মুর্শিদাবাদে সভা করবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। আজ এই সভামঞ্চ থেকে ১২টি নতুন জলযান উদ্বোধন করবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।
১০০ টি আসনের ৪ টি কাঠের জলযান, এগুলি হল – এম ভি সুন্দরিণী, এম ভি মধুরিণী, এম ভি ঊষান্তে, এম ভি সবুজসাথী। এছাড়া ৪ টি সম্পূর্ণ ভর্তি ৬ চাকার ট্রাক/বাসের ভার বহনে সক্ষম একটি এল সি টি ভেসেলেরও উদ্বোধন করবেন যার নাম এম ভি সকাল। ২৫০ টি আসনের ৫টি ইস্পাতের জলযান এবং ১০০টি আসনের ১টি ইস্পাতের দ্বিতল জলযানেরও উদ্বোধন করবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এছাড়া নদীপথে
এছাড়া নদীপথে ২৬টি জেটিরও উদ্বোধন করবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। ৯টি জেটি ও কলকাতার ৩ টি জেটি নির্মাণ কাজের শুভ সূচনা করবেন তিনি।
