The President is pleased to appoint the senior-most Election Commissioner, Shri Achal Kumar Joti as the Chief Election Commissioner in the Election Commission. Shri Achal Kumar Joti will assume the charge of the office of Chief Election Commissioner with effect from the 6th July, 2017 consequent upon demitting the Office of the Chief Election Commissioner by Dr. Nasim Zaidi on the 5th July, 2017.
