TATA Tiscon in association with PEDL – Zoomcar organised a Cycle Rally on the World Environment Day
Kolkata, 5th June, 2018: On ‘World Environment Day’, TATA Tiscon and PEDL – Zoomcar in joint collaboration organized “The Cycle Rally”. The event was graced by the presence of eminent personalities like: Mrs. Lata Bhatia, Founding member, Green Legion; Mr. Pawan Kumar, Sr. Brand Manager, TATA Tiscon.
The participants said one should work actively to save environment. With an aim to save environment and nature, TATA Tiscon and PEDL – Zoomcar joined hands to hold the event and to generate a greater sense of awareness and consciousness among the employees, channel partners of Tata Steel and general public. The event is to mark the importance of protecting the environment through small changes in our everyday life. This 5 KM rally was flagged off from Newtown Business Club and passed through Nazrul Tirtha to Newtown Bus Stand and back to the starting point. The aim of the event was to create awareness regarding environmental issues and to encourage people to contribute towards a greener and sustainable planet by making it pollution free.
On this occasion, Mrs. Lata Bhatia, Founding member, Green Legion said “Creating awareness about the environmental issues was important. She said the public concern for ecology and environment should not be restricted to Environment Day, but should be a part of their daily life. Youngsters can play a major role in protecting environment..”
Talking about the success of the event, Mr. Pawan Kumar, Sr. Brand Manager, TATA Tiscon said “With ever rising pollution level, it is our responsibility to take steps to save our environment. The Cycle Rally held today is an important awareness initiative aimed at safeguarding the diverse and fragile ecosystem by promoting cycling on the occasion of world environment day.”
The Cycle Rally witnessed overwhelming participation by both tourists as well as local population. More than 150 cycling enthusiasts took part in the rally to promote green mobility, sustainable living, health and environmental sensitivity.
