‘Urge Media to Write Extensively on Innovations in Science and Technology: Dr. Harsh Vardhan

Union Minister for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences and Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Dr. Harsh Vardhan has urged mediapersons to write extensively and regularly on innovations in the field of science and technology.   Inaugurating  a workshop on “Role of Media in Dissemination of Scientific and Technological Advancements”,  organised by Ministry of Science and Technology here today, the Minister strongly urged the youngsters in the field of mass media to come forward and participate actively in popularising the innovative work being done in science and technology.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan recalled and lauded the immense contribution of the press in making the nation ‘Polio-free’.  The Minister also fondly recollected his long association with several veteran journalists present among the gathering.

A detailed presentation, on the work being done by CSIR, was made by Director General, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), Dr. Girish Sahni.  About 200 people attended the workshop.
