Vice President condoles the passing away of Shri K.K. Katyal
The Vice President of India, Shri M. Hamid Ansari has condoled the passing away of the eminent journalist Shri K.K. Katyal.

Following is the Vice President’s message:

“I am deeply grieved to hear about the demise of eminent journalist Shri K.K. Katyal.

Shri Katyal’s reporting on political and international affairs was legendary.

I convey my deepest condolences to the bereaved members of the family and join the nation in praying for eternal peace for the departed soul.”

K.K. Katyal, veteran journalist and former Delhi Chief of Bureau of The Hindu, who led the newspaper’s wide-ranging coverage from the national capital during a particularly eventful phase of political change, passed away in hospital on Wednesday after a brief illness.

He was 88.

In the 28 years from 1976 that he spent at The Hindu, Mr. Katyal built his work on access to a wide body of political and diplomatic sources.
