The State of Pakistan has once again demonstrated its authoritarian tendencies by employing excessive force to suppress a peaceful assembly. This heavy-handed response is a glaring example of state fascism aimed at silencing voices advocating for justice and human rights.
As part of the awareness programs leading up to the public gathering in Dalbandin on January 25 to commemorate Baloch Genocide Remembrance Day, a rally was scheduled for 2 PM in Lyari, Karachi.
However, before the rally could commence, Karachi police carried out a violent crackdown on the participants. Protesters were subjected to violence, and during this operation.
BYC leaders Sammi Deen Baloch , Lala Wahab Baloch, was arrested alongside several other activists. Additionally, the area was placed under complete siege, cutting off access and silencing dissent.
This brazen use of force against a peaceful gathering highlights the State’s ongoing campaign to stifle legitimate voices and undermine democratic rights. Despite these oppressive measures, the resolve of those advocating for justice and human rights remains unshaken.
A file image shows even the childhood is under threat of state sponsored terror for Balochistan subjects in POB.
