Pt Sanatan Goswami released his latest album Swartarang along with his co-artiste noted percussionist Pt Prodyut Mukherjee who designed the sound of the album in presence of ace filmmaker Raja Sen, singer Riddhi Bandyopadhyay, actresses like Ankita Majumdar, Parijat Chakraborty at Press Club, Kolkata, Yesterday.
This album features a new sound played on the mini xylophone having a different tonality which is very much Indian due to use of sticks wrapped up by cotton pads.As xylophone is a Western musical instrument usually played with western symphonies and popular songs but Pt Sanatan Goswami has added a new tonality , a round sound with the use of sticks with making some changes into it. He even has some plans to add string section with the instrument to add on some fresh features with the same musical instrument in near future.
This audio cd features Tagore songs like Akash Bhora, Jodi Tor Daak Shune Keu, Bengali folk song like Tomay Hridh Majhare Rakhbo besides Indian classical bandish based on Raga Bhairavi, Kafi.The audio cd is released by Raga Music.
Pt Goswami said, ” With the change of tonality now it can be played with the Indian classical besides light classical music.”
