Bandhan-Konnagar Development Day now another festival for poorest of poor in India in the true sense, an NGO founded by Bandhan Bank MD Chandra Sekhar Ghosh. Targetting the Hardcore Poor (THP) program has benefited nearly 70,000 families in several states on record and actuals.
“We have able to benefit around 70,000 families in states like West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Jharkhand,” Ghosh said on the occasion of Bandhan Development Day.
He also confirmed that talks were on with other states like Odisha and Bihar as government support was needed, he said. “There is a need to scale up the project and many global organizations are willing to extend support”.
Grass root entrepreneurs and their success to become self-sufficient in terms of finance was our moto said Mr.Ghosh.
“No one cares about 85% of the poor and from the start, the idea was to eliminate poverty and create employment generation was the driving force for Bandhan” he said.
