A slice of Bengal at Durga Puja Bisarjan carnival on Red Road
A special procession of about 39 Durga Puja committees who have won Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman was organised today on Red Road on the way to the bisarjan, or immersion.
This bisarjan carnival, initiated by Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was an unique show that gave an opportunity to all to see the best pratimas at one place.
From the graceful, minimalist moves of Manipuri dancers to the energetic, exaggerated leaps of Chhau dancers; from the rhythmic beats of dhaks to the soul-stirring sounds of dhamsas and madals; from frames that captured Kolkata’s built heritage of a bygone era to the memories of the past – the inaugural edition of the bisarjan carnival on Red Road was a riot for the senses.
Puja organisers pulled out all stops to make the Mamata Banerjee-inspired event a show-stopper.

রেড রোডে দুর্গা বিসর্জনের বর্ণাঢ্য শোভাযাত্রা
আজ কলকাতার রাজপথে বিশ্ববাংলা শারদ সম্মান পুরস্কার জয়ী ৩৯টি দুর্গাপ্রতিমা বিসর্জনের এক বিরাট শোভাযাত্রার আয়োজন করা হয়েছিল। মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়েরঅনুপ্রেরণায় এই অভূতপূর্ব শোভাযাত্রার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে যেখানে একই জায়গায় মানুষ এবারের সবকটি উত্কৃষ্ট প্রতিমা দেখার সুযোগ পেলেন ও কার্নিভালের আমেজ উপভোগ করলেন।
এখানে মনিপুরী নাচের সঙ্গে ছিল ছৌ নৃত্য, ঢাকের তালের সঙ্গে ছিল ধামসামাদল, কলকাতার আভিজাত্যের সঙ্গে ছিল অতীতের স্মৃতি , সব মিলিয়ে এই শোভাযাত্রাটি প্রানোচ্ছল হয়ে উঠেছিল।
সমগ্র অনুষ্ঠানটি মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের ফেসবুক পেজেও লাইভ দেখানো হয়েছিল।
