Ace Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar known for his free thoughts on social and political films against any kind of atrocities had to cancelled his promotional events for his latest controversial film Indu Sarkar – a movie on Emergency which has already made congressmen in India in backstage and protesting with displeasure in Nagpur and Mumbai.
The event in Nagpur is canceled after Pune the one in Mumbai to follow.
The composed director tweeted Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, asking if he approved of the “hooliganism” or new emergency by Congress workers.
The era of Emergency and it has the characters inspired by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and her son Sanjay Gandhi. Congress leaders are also demanded that the director hold a special screening so they can ensure that the “characters are not shown in a bad light”.
The Congress has distanced itself from the protests, with senior leaders saying “The Congress party absolutely distances itself from these kinds of protests. We criticize it, we condemn it,” he told.
But why this kind of protest should happen in the very first place when you have done some thing on recorded history you should contest the views on pen and paper not with swords on the street.
Madhur Bhandarkar and his team must get protection along with the halls where the film is going to be released.
