The ASSET training facility is a tri-party initiative involving Ford, the dealers, and the ITI.

They have already trained two teachers through Train-The-Trainer (TTT) sessions for institute lecturers, along with special sessions with Master Technician from Ford dealerships here to subsequently train students who will be given practice kits including training material, tool kit, and component display and cut section encompassing 60 hours of studies over 2-3 months as per convenience and 15 days of on-job experience.

“So far we have enrolled 454 students, 179 of which have obtained their certificates and about 60% have opted to be placed with dealers.” said N. Prabhu, VP, CSO, Ford Motors.

In Calcutta they are looking at 20 wards and 600 overall in their 14 centers earmarked for this year.
