A Film screening of director Vivek Agnihotri’s “Buddha In A Traffic Jam” at Kolkata’s Jadavpur University or JU was interrupted several times this evening, before being abandoned about 20 minutes into the film. Register of the University came and requested to stop screening for law and order situation. Actor Anupam Kher suppose to come but candled the visit.
Mr Agnihotri, earlier adamant that he would screen his film but had to stop the screening due to strong protests from Left-leaning student unions at the university, who had also surrounded his car as he arrived on the campus. Student complained that some outsiders related to Film team has done misbehavior with the girl student. Which erupted the volcano.
A group backed by the BJP’s student’s wing ABVP had organised the screening.

Some thing needs to be fixed in view of security of the students and the external world none has the authority to man handle any one. Freedom of speech should be available to all not just a selected group. At the same time responsible speech is also expected from all concern to maintain the law and order.
