Lorenzo:
“The man that hath no music in himself,
Nor is not mov’d with concord of sweet sounds,
Is fit for treasons, stratagems, and spoils.”

The Merchant of Venice (V, i, 83-85) Jessica, daughter of Shylock, has eloped with Lorenzo where he explained love for music, and the story continues till now.

The same can be told in Tagore’s word

“আজি হতে শতবর্ষ পরে কে তুমি পড়িছ বসি আমার কবিতাখানি কৌতুহল ভরে”

The Gardener (LXXXV)

Who are you, reader, reading my poems an hundred years hence?
I cannot send you one single flower from this wealth of the spring,
one single streak of gold from yonder clouds.
Open your doors and look abroad.
From your blossoming garden gather fragrant memories of the vanished
flowers of an hundred years before.
In the joy of your heart may you feel the living joy that sang one
spring morning, sending its glad voice across a hundred years.

— Rabindranath Tagore

Poetry is like the distillation of emotion. A good poem can transport you to the place that the poet is writing about and a good poem can also make you have ‘visions’.

And the Kobita Utsav is one such event not just to listen but to soak yourself in passion for life, passion for poetry and cultural insight.
