Nepalese President Bidhya Devi Bhandari’s visit to India has been cancelled, Nepal Government official sources already have confirmed to media.
President Bhandari was suppose to land in Delhi on May 9,2016, as the state guest of honor at the Rashtrapati Bhavan as a guest of President Pranab Mukherjee.
President Bhandari was all set to participate in a Holy Bath or Shahi Snan in Ujjain’s Simhastha Kumbh Mela on May 14.
Though the government sources are yet to comment about the real reasons behind the cancellation of the trip media report that the visit was cancelled due to the unforeseen evolving political condition in Nepal after the threat of a split in the ruling CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist coalition government of Nepal.
Though discussion has been on to save the eight-month old coalition, instability continues in Kathmandu, but last week threat is still on.
The Nepal government today recalled its ambassador to India Mr.Deep Kumar Upadhyay.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli finalized to during The Cabinet meeting today, to recall Mr Upadhyay Mr Upadhyay reportedly made his displeasure known to Mr Oli on cancellation of Nepal President Visit to India .
“It does not look good at a time when Nepal-India ties are back on track and as an ambassador I was not even informed and consulted before the cancellation of the visit,” Mr Upadhyay reportedly told the prime minister.
Mr Oli reportedly told Mr Upadhyay that “if you have such kind of reservation about the cancellation of the visit, you can quit”.
