Ola Continues to Lead the Fight Against Traffic Congestion with #FarakPadtaHai
Ola Share marks 2x growth in the past one year; Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Mumbai register maximum shared rides
- 60% increase in the use of Ola Share by office goers
- 70% increase in adoption of Ola Share from mass transit hubs like metro stations and bus depots

Kolkata| June 5, 2018: Ola, India’s leading and one of the world’s largest ride sharing companies, today announced the return of #FarakPadtaHai (#FPH), a national movement against traffic, carbon footprint, and resulting pollution through the adoption of shared mobility. For the second year in a row, through this initiative, Ola calls its customers and communities at large to switch to shared mobility solutions. As part of this campaign, Ola is launching a week-long offer, starting June 5th where commuters can book free rides from mass transit locations such as metro stations, railway stations, and bus stops across top 7 cities i.e. Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.
Ola Share clocked 2x growth in the past one year with Bengaluru and Kolkata emerging as the top two cities in terms of adoption. Chennai and Mumbai were not far behind and took up the third and the fourth spot respectively, as many more commuters realised the benefits of opting for shared rides. Improved awareness and customer experience have increased the office-going commuter base by over 60% in the past one year.

The uptake for Ola Share has gone up to as much as 70% from mass transit hubs in top 7 cities with Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Pune registering the maximum adoption, followed by Hyderabad and Delhi. #FarakPadtaHai has driven massive uptake in smaller cities too; Guwahati, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Ahmedabad are clocking in 60% more Ola Share rides as compared to last year, and tier 3 cities like Raipur, Ranchi, Kanpur, and Dehradun have also joined the movement with more and more commuters opting for shared rides.
