Rotary Encourages Business Networking for Community Growth
Kolkata, April 22, 2018 : ‘Your Network is Your Net Worth’ is the belief of the Rotarians who are part of Rotary Means Business (RMB), Kolkata Chapter. Essentially, they engage in the value of improving and furthering your business via building trustworthy relationships via effective communication. Justifiably so, it is important for any business owner to network with the right people to ensure the successful growth of their business, as each of the components of the world of business is dependent upon each other.
This was the essence of the day-long event – RMB Connect 2018, that saw 24 Rotarians from Rotary Means Business (RMB), Kolkata Chapter, coming together to network with the common goal – to grow their business effectively, thus being able to better serve the community. Held on April 22, at Salt Lake, it was hosted by the Rotary Means Business (RMB), Kolkata Chapter, in association with The Economic Times, with the mutual objective to be able to give back to the community with a more enhanced and wholesome effort.
The day started with Rajani Mukherjee, Raju Khandelwal and Raju Rajgarhia, past district governors of District 3291, lighting the inaugural lamp in the presence of Kanak T Jain – the founder of Rotary Means Business, and other RMB members. As the RMB Founder, Kanak T Jain, rightfully said, “The members of Rotary Means Business are always satisfied as they are effectively networking to grow their business. Growing their business means making more profits, which in turn enables the members to contribute better to the Rotary Foundation, that is including new members every day, to be able to improve the society around us more effectively and abundantly.” Hence, Rotary Means Business unites people who want to create lasting changes across the globe and to their communities and enables them to do so by providing a modest networking platform.
After this, all 24 RMB members with stalls at the venue, made presentations on what they offer. This event not only gave start-ups an opportunity to grow their business by reaching out to all present, but seasoned players also got to interact with fellow Rotarians to create opportunities for mutual business growth. Dr. Arijit Banerjee, the force behind Ramaesis Realty Pvt. Ltd., made a presentation on bio-toilets where cystic bacteria is used to turn faecal waste to reusable water. As he dynamically expressed, “For a business entrepreneur, networking is very important, and RMB has provided that platform to all the upcoming start-ups and seasoned social entrepreneurs to come together.” For every three toilets they sell, “we build a free toilet for those who cannot afford one,” he informed.
As Subhash Tulsiyan of Arena Animation, Kankurgachi & 360 Degrees Solutions said, “RMB Connect has given us a huge opportunity to grow ourselves and it was one of the best business exhibitions as it received a large footfall, which provided ample opportunity to talk to relevant prospective clients who were very responsive.” He emphasized that all RMB members expect to grow together and contribute to the Rotary Movement to successfully provide service to the community by effectively networking and doing great business together.
The presentation ceremony was followed by an evening of networking over high tea. RMB Connect ended with the RMB Recognition Ceremony 2018 where 18 RMB members of 4,300 members of District 3291 were awarded, in association with Economic Times. The event was supported by UTI Swatantra, SSL and ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, while the channel partner was Taaza TV.
