A tantalizing drama festival begins
Theatre, not only a mere source of entertainment but also it’s a way to raise social voices. Alternative Living Theatre a.k.a ALT from Madhyamgram is bringing a five day National Drama Festival- “Para Porshir Theatre” at their place from 1st to 5th of November. Minister Bratya Basu inaugurated the ceremony in the presence of Mr. Rathin Ghosh, MLA(Madhyamgram, North) and Sangit Natak Akademi Winner Mr. Probir Guha and his team ALT.“Mainly the drama festival was emerged in 2013, then it was held on 2015 and in 2017 it's the 3rd year of this drama festival.
The concept of the festival is to build the bridge of friendliness and highlight different form of theatre practices across the globe.” Mr. Subhadeep Guha, one of the prime member of ALT and award winning Music artist quoted. Theatre troupes from various regions like Bihar, Kolkata, Madhyamgram and also A group from Bangladesh will withhold their plays in the schedule of this 5 days drama festival. Name of the festival is inspired by the theatres from the neighbourhood where the ‘Para’ stands for locality. From the very beginning of Alternative Living Theatre, they always arranged this kind of festival repeatedly in a year.
But they make their “Para Porshir Theatre” as a grand festival- said by Mr. Subhadeep Guha. The festival kicked start by the melodious voice of Ms. Kakali Das and Recitations of Atanu Barman. On the first day of the festival, “Bapu”, a play from Bihar, directed by Sangit Natya Akademi Winner Parvez Akhtar was presented on the prestigious stage of Nazrul Sadan Madhyamgram.
On 5th November for the first time “Titas Ekti Nodir Naam” adopted from Mr. Adwaita Mallabarman, will be played by the members of ALT, on the stage from the eye of the director of the drama Mr. Probir Guha. In between many excellent dramas will be performed by various groups. To enjoy and learn the approaches of the dramas from different places, please do come to Madhyamgram Nazrul Sadan at 6:00 pm from 1st to 5th November, after all its a festival by our Neighbours.
