– Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore legacy Shantiniketan Poush Mela lands in dirty Politics
– Stop playing dirty politics with Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore legacy
Shantiniketan,23 December 2021
It is a national insult when dirty politics brings down the heritage set by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore at Viswa Varati University.
Yes, this year “Poush Mela” the iconic event set by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, has become the victim of low credible dirty politics of shameless personalities from all sides. Which are more pathetic people of India and Bengal have become indifferent to such political melodrama with the national poet’s legacy. Do we really feel for our heritage?
Vishwabharati’s Vice-Chancellor Bidyut Chakraborty blamed the state government for not holding the Poush Mela in Santiniketan this year. He claimed that even after writing a letter to the health secretary, no reply was received. Therefore, it was not possible to hold the Poush Mela this year. The Vice-Chancellor was present there. He said this there.
Inaugurating the Poush festival at Chhatimtala on Thursday morning, the Vice-Chancellor said, “We have been organizing the Poush Mela since October. He first sent a letter to the center asking for permission. After that, we sent a letter to the health secretary of the state. He was then reminded three times. But no answer matched. That is why we have decided not to hold Poushmela. “
Although not a Poush Mela, the Poush Utsav is celebrated in the presence of a limited number of people in Chatimtala through Baitalik and Upasana. Students and professors were also present on the occasion. Some of the students are upset because it is not a fair. According to them, even though it is not a Poush Mela, they have joined the Poush Festival to preserve the Rabindra tradition.
Although there is no Poush Mela in Santiniketan, an alternative fair has been organized at Dakbanglo ground in Bolpur. The fair is starting from Thursday. Will continue till 11 Poush. The fair has been organized in the style of the traditional Poush Mela of Santiniketan.
Now organizing an alternate “Poush Mela” is like setting up an old man with a beard and giving him the same as Gurudev. Our humble request to all please stop playing politics around the pride of India and the heritage of Bengal. No matter how big your post and stature in politics, neither you all are Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore nor do you have the quality to become a statesman like Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.
Please think and refrain from such activity in the future from all sides and parties involved in such dirty showmanship of politics. Some events and figures are like the bloodline of the culture of the Indian diaspora and we can not change the same.
