The Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), Eastern Region Chapter, hosted its regional event in Shillong on 12 September 2025, with NEEPCO Shillong as the host organisation
Kolkata, 23rd September: The programme featured inspiring addresses by eminent speakers. Padma Shri awardee Smt. Patricia Mukhim delivered a thought-provoking talk on “Make Moves, Not Excuses!”. Major General Rajesh Kumar Jha, AVSM (Retd.), Director (Personnel), NEEPCO, spoke on navigating power structures and influencing decisions, while Col. Megha Astagikar, CO IWTO Unit, challenged stereotypes in her session on “Challenging Traditional Gender Roles.”
The event was presided over by Smt. Swagata Sen Roy, President, WIPS Eastern Region, and joined by Smt. Neha Dugar, Vice President, WIPS ER, Smt. Ranjana Chakravorty, Secretary, WIPS ER & Smt. Elbin D. Dole, Joint Secretary, WIPS ER, along with members of the executive committee.
With enthusiastic participation from members across the Eastern Region, the event concluded on a high note, reaffirming the role of WIPS as a catalyst for empowering women and advancing leadership in the public sector.
