MORE THAN 27 LAKH PASSENGERS TRAVELLED IN the METRO ON PANCHAMI, SASTHI AND SAPTAMI

On Panchami, Sasthi and Saptami of this Durga Puja, more than 27 lakh passengers availed Metro services and around 3.17 lakh passengers (around 12% of the total passengers) have booked tickets through the Aamar Kolkata Metro app during these three days. On 29.09.2025 (Saptami), 9.04 lakh passengers have travelled in Metro. More than 7.02 lakh passengers have travelled in Blue Line and more than 1.77 lakh passengers have travelled in Green Line on Saptami.
During these three days, 13,570 Smart Cards have been issued and 1,07,973 Smart Cards revalidated for 10 years under the new scheme and reduced issue price at ₹ 100/-which is phenomenal, and it has also helped in reducing rush at the booking counters. Apart from that, a total of 501 Tourist Smart Cards have also been sold in this period. On Panchami, Sasthi and Saptami, 146, 165, and 190 Tourist Smart Cards have been sold, respectively.
Passengers are requested to book tickets through the AAMAR KOLKATA METRO app before reaching the stations to avoid rush at the booking counters. They are also requested to use Smart Cards/ Tourist Smart Cards so that rush at booking counters can be avoided and thereby save valuable time and money.
