PERMISSION FOR TRAFFIC BLOCK FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PORTAL BEAM OF PIER-288 AND PIER-289 NEAR METROPOLITAN CROSSING RECEIVED

Good news for all Metro commuters!
Permission for the traffic block near Metropolitan Crossing on E.M.Bypass (one of the busiest crossings of Kolkata) for construction of Portal Beam of Pier No.288 and Pier No.289 of Kavi Subhash to Airport via Rajarhat Metro Project has been given on 13.06.2024 by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Department, Kolkata to Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL). Prior to giving this permission, a high level meeting was held and rigorous trial runs for traffic regulations at this crossing were conducted from 07.06.2024 to 11.06.2024. Considering all parameters, permission for the traffic block for construction of these Piers has been given for 90 days from 13.06.2024. With this permission, a big stumbling block which has been delaying this Project has been removed. At present, with the co-operation of the State Government, RVNL engineers are reinforcing the fixing work of Pier No. 288.Trestle erection for Pier No. 289 is also going on.
RVNL has also taken all possible safety measures while executing this job near the Metropolitan Crossing on E.M. Bypass and is eyeing to complete the work within the allied block. RVNL has planned to complete this construction work by end of August 2024 and this section is likely to be commissioned in the current fiscal.
