MEMBER (OPERATIONS & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT), RAILWAY BOARD VISITS EASTERN RAILWAY HEADQUARTERS, FAIRLIE PLACE
Kolkata, January 31, 2025:
Shri Hitendra Malhotra, Member (Operations & Business Development), Railway Board, visited Eastern Railway (ER) Headquarters, Fairlie Place, today (31.01.2025) and chaired a high-level meeting with Shri Milind Deouskar, General Manager, Eastern Railway. The meeting was attended by Shri Sumit Sarkar, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway, along with Principal Heads of Departments from Eastern Railway and Metro Railway.
During the discussions, key aspects of railway operations, infrastructure development, passenger services and business strategies were reviewed. Shri Malhotra emphasized the need for enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing freight movement, and improving passenger amenities across the network.
Later, Shri Malhotra also conducted a review meeting with the Operating and Commercial Departments of Eastern Railway, focusing on service improvements, revenue generation, and future growth plans. He highlighted the importance of technological advancements, data-driven decision-making, and innovative business models to strengthen railway operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment of Eastern Railway to modernizing its services and improving operational performance in line with the vision of Indian Railways.
