METRO EXTENDS QR TICKETING SYSTEM ACROSS ALL LINES

From today onwards, both paper and mobile QR tickets have been introduced in the entire Metro Railway Kolkata network. Earlier, it was only available for the Green Line, Blue Line, and Orange Line. The same facility has been extended to Purple and Yellow Lines also from today. Now, mobile QR tickets can be booked through the Aamar Kolkata Metro app for the stations of these lines in addition to paper QR tickets.
Yesterday, 23482 passengers booked mobile QR tickets using the Metro app, which was almost double that of the previous Monday, which was 11787. Passengers may save valuable time and money by buying tickets through the Aamar Kolkata Metro App before reaching Metro station to avoid rush, and can avail 5 % discount on fares for each ticket booked through this app.
Frequent announcements have been made at metro stations to purchase tickets through this app so as to managing crowd on account of surge of passengers after opening new lines recently.
