Kolkata is better known as “The Cultural Capital of India” has many reason to claim this title;One such cultural activity surely is “Prayas” By Smita Art and Chemould Art Gallery’s initiative to uphold the upcoming talents in Art arena.
West Bengal Panchayat & Rural Development and PHE Minister Subrata Mukherjee was Chief Guest while eminent Artist Sri Robin Mondal, Ms.Sharbari Dutta the name in the fashion designing world and the Doly Basu famous stage actress were the guest of honor at the stage.
After Felicitation of all, the event started with “Ananta Ghorara” a classic dance drama with spellbound moments of choreography and mono act by Janardhan Ghosh and Amitava Dutta.
Shri Subrata Mukherjee and the other guest of honor unveiled the book on Prayas 2016.
After that the Life Time Achievement award given to
- Pranab Ranjan Roy – Social Scientist and Art Expert
- Nemai Ghosh – Photography & stage artist
- Lalu Prasad Shaw – Master Artist
- Anita Roy Chowdhury – Master Artist
It would be prudent to mention Ashoke Biswanathan and his elite way of moderation of the whole show.
