When we think of fish in our colloquial cuisine we mainly think of riverine variety but we want relish we opt for costal or neritic variety. With monsoon forever threatening to have a go it’s about time to give in to that succulent flaky relish.
To aid The Palms Restaurant is organizing a gustatory travelogue writ on fish from one coast to the other. Choices swaddle across a huge array from entrees to main courses that include Surmai Tawa Fry, Hyderabadi Tawa Fry Bangra, Pomfret Dahi Curry and Goan Curry amongst others. Every dish is accompanied by a side of rice.
Speaking about the festival, owner Priyadarshini Dey said, “Keeping in mind
Kolkata’s love for the rains and for fish, we at The Palms Restaurant decided to launch Coastal Connect, a fish festival that celebrates the city’s favourite protein in varied Indian flavours.” She further added, “From the beautiful and flaky Pomfret Dahi Curry Gujarati Style to the refreshingly aromatic Bangra Fry or some healty and of course the fish of the season Hilsa cooked with some delicious spices in Hilsa Hara Mirch, the dishes are a perfect accompaniment to the romantic drizzle outside.”
