Century LED marks Environment Week by streamlining waste disposal process
Kolkata, 6th June 2017: Century LED, a forward looking lighting solutions company head-quartered in Kolkata has taken the responsibility of adopting sustainable manufacturing practices to contribute towards a cleaner & greener India. On account of marking the Environment Week, it has streamlined its waste disposal policy.
Century LED towards an effort to protect the environment from the adverse effects of factory pollution has initiated the practice of responsible waste disposal. In addition to enjoying the status of being a white industry, it has put in place a robust waste management policy at its manufacturing unit in Howrah. It has segregated all its wastes into biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste materials and further segregated the raw materials into Metal, Plastic and Non Plastic sub-categories.
As part of scrap disposal policy, Century LED follows the practice of recycling. Valuable waste, and salvageable materials associated with remodelling, renovation, maintenance, and new construction accomplished or managed by Physical Plant are properly disposed or prepared for storage and reused in a manner that complies with all applicable State and Local law and Physical Plant policy. The organization also strives to reduce the possibility of misappropriation of scrap, valuable waste, and salvageable material.
Besides, the factory has also arranged for a sucker to exhaust the fumes coming out from the smouldering machine.
