West Bengal State Akademi of Dance Drama Music and Visual Arts,Rabindra Bharati University holds ‘Phalguni’ Niye….a seminar on Rabindranath Tagore’s dance drama ‘Phalguni’,with talks by experts and the enactment of selected scenes.
Kolkata, March 15, 2018: West Bengal State Akademi of Dance Drama Music and Visual Arts, Rabindra Bharati University held ‘Phalguni’ Niye… a one-day seminar on Rabindranath Tagore’s dance drama ‘Phalguni’, with talks by experts and the enactment of selected scenes, at Bichitra, Jorasanko Thakurbari here today.
After the inauguration of the seminar by Prof. Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury, Vice Chancellor, Rabindra Bharati University, and Chairman, West Bengal State Akademi of Dance Drama Music and Visual Arts, Prof. Sanjoy Mukhopadhyay spoke on Aniyomer Labonya: ‘Phalguni’, and Prof. Saumitra Basu spoke on ‘Sharodotsab’ Theke ‘Phalguni’
Members of ‘Antarmukh’ and ‘Uhinee Kolkata’ presented selected scenes from ‘Phalguni’ – the dance drama which visualizes a transformation of nature from the dry, lifeless winters to the blossoms associated with spring which makes mankind realize the values associated with the full bloom of nature during the spring season. ‘Phalguni’ attempts to showcase the significance of the destruction of leaves and other natural greens during winter since the transformation to full bloom during spring brings back pleasant experiences once again.
