Kolkata, 10 December 2018: Usha International, one of India’s leading household consumer durable brand is actively involved in uplifting sports and supporting sports talent in India. Taking forward this commitment, Usha announced the ‘Usha Nabarun Football Tournament 2018’. The Tournament’s finale took place on December 9, 2018 at the Usha football ground opposite Usha Factory, Bansdroni. Former National Women’s Swimming Champion Bula Choudhary presided over the programme as the Guest of Honour.
The tournament that kick-started on November 24th, 2018 saw participation of many renowned Kolkata clubs; where team BM Properties and team P.P.A competed against each other in the final match. BM Properties defeated P.P.A in a tough competition and lifted the Usha Nabarun Football 2018 Trophy.
The tournament consisted of 16 teams; each team put up a great performance. Kolkata is known for their love for football and it showed in the skills that players displayed. The competing teams included Sandarpara Sangathan Samity, Bally Dakshinpara Sammilani, Baguihati Football Lover’s, Batanagar Netaji Sangha, Jefa, P.P.A, Jugi battala Sporting Club, T.S.S. Construction, Roynagar Unnayan Samity, Mama Mami Catterer, Behala Chanditala and Sonarpur Coaching Centre.
