KOLKATA, 2nd November 2019: The Cultural Society of Bengal has witnessed a glorious event which is occurring for the last 3 years.
Astrology And Astrologers Association, Sarbobharatiya Brahmin Parishad, Sanskrit Sanskriti, Belur & Yuva- Today these four organisation had arranged ‘Purohit Sharod Samman-2019′ at Ravindra Bhavan, Dumdum.
Nowadays, Durga Puja is not only a religious event for Bengali, but it is also a big cultural event for all. A lot of money is invested in this puja. Not only in Bengal or in India, but Bengali people across the world also take part in this Durga puja. Prizes, light, pandals, idols, ambience there is so much thing in this puja! But the people without whom the puja remains incomplete, those brahmin purohits get no reward! And somewhere they stay as ignored. This is the reason AAWA took the decision that they will arrange a prestige ceremony for these purohits.
They divided their members into some small groups and went into various pandals, and there they selected those people and ultimately they are giving rewards to 625 purohits today. The programme started with welcoming the guests of this event, Mangalacharan, Anjali with pranam mantra of Devi Durga and by lightning the inauguration lamp. Pandit Arnab Ghoshal, Nimai Pandit, Atmananda Maharaj, Jayanta Goswami, Ranjan Pathak, Brahmananda Saraswati, Famous Dance Choreographer Kohinoor Sen Borat, Actress
Moubani Sarkar etc was present at this event. They made the event so glamorous and a beautiful ambience was situated by their presence, elegance and speech. The event also became very musical by the voice of Sreekumar Chattopadhyay, Aditi Munsi etc. And then the main thing for what everything was arranged took place- The reward giving ceremony of the purohits. AAWA President Rama Sanyal and General Secretary Dr. Debashish Goswami said that the event will be arranged every year even better.
