Maharashtra Tourism Strengthens its outreach in Kolkata targeting the east of India with a roadshow in the city

Kolkata: Maharashtra Tourism successfully hosted a roadshow in the town on 30th November 2019, to strengthen its outreach among the travel and trade industry. To enhance the growth of domestic tourism in the state, Maharashtra Tourism along with its associated partners connected with around 100 travel and trade companies. The roadshow was an interactive session where business to business meetings were conducted to introduce and brief them about the products and services offered; along with the indulgence in cultural performance depicting the charming culture of Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Tourism introduced its own flexible packages to suit customers need and comfort. The packages are tailor made by Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation including their resorts, with impeccable locations and views.

Mr. Dilip Gawade, IAS, Director, Directorate of Tourism, Govt. of Maharashtra, Mr. Shrimant Harkar, Dy. Director, Directorate of Tourism- Aurangabad hosted the roadshow as a substantial informative event. It was attended by officer bearers of Association of Tourism West Bengal, Bengal Travel Agents Association, Association of Eastern Himalaya Travels, Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India and Indian Association of Tour Operators.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Dilip Gawade, IAS, Director, Directorate of Tourism, Govt. of Maharashtra, said, “Our state of Maharashtra which is also known as ‘Gateway to the Heart of India’ has a wide plethora of attractions. It is adorned by the beautiful Sahyadri ranges of the Western Ghats with high mountains that disappear into the morning mist, while the sprawling belt of the Konkan Coast mesmerizes everyone with its long-spread beaches. And it does not end there, there are forts, caves, and forests which are home to some of the most unique wildlife, flora and fauna. The temples, palaces, shrines in Maharashtra speak about the age-old legacy of religions, spirituality, culture and heritage that give the state its unique identity. As a part of our continuous endeavor to promote tourism in the state, we are inviting our brothers and sisters from the East to come and visit the state and be a part of the magnificent experience that the region will offer.

Mr. Srimant Harkar further added that it is exciting to see such enthusiastic response from the travel industry in the city. The roadshow was well received, and it helped us understand the dynamics of the state. Aurangabad is the pride of Maharashtra, which attracts tourists and heritage enthusiast from all over the world.

It is notable that Maharashtra Tourism showcased east targeted tourism sectors like Wildlife tourism, Beach Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Religious Tourism. The message passed was loud and clear that Maharashtra Tourism is a “A Country in a State” and this attracted a lot of attention to the products the state has to offer.
