In view of impending cyclone “Jawad” which is likely to reach Odisha coast by 04 Dec21, the Indian Coast Guard has initiated pre-emptive and preventive actions for the safety of life and property at sea.
Indian Coast Guard ships and aircraft have been tasked specifically for relaying weather warnings to mariners and urging fishing boats at sea to return to harbor.
Till now approx 55 fishing boats have been directed by ICG units to return to harbor. The weather warning is also being broadcast through Coast Guard ROS at Paradip and Haldia in vernacular language to alert fisherfolk at sea… Close liaison being maintained by ICG with local fisheries authorities for accounting of fishing boats at sea.
